there are so many months of film i’ll be dumping, but it’s kind of fun to look back at these and remember what all was happening. given that these are from may, i kind of already knew i was likely going to end my relationship. over the year i was part of that relationship, i learned that maturity is more about experience, values, and goals than it is about age… and despite my ex being substantially younger, there wasn’t much brought to the table. they say the older you get as woman, the harder it is to date because you’ve been doing a lot of work on yourself, learning your worth, and to reject that bullshit — to name a few. this relationship ended up being the nail on the coffin for me, and the desire to date stopped to exist. just to be clear, i’m not blaming the ex, but rather that i learned there is so much more to desire than a romantic relationship.

anyway, we did a day date to half acre brewing to hit up some artists’ market. didn’t snag anything, but definitely want to return to half acre with friends to enjoy patio season and brews.

logan square and andersonville are probably my favorite neighborhoods in chicago, but logan square tops the list. yeah, i might be a bit biased, because i used to own a condo on armitage close to the freeze (RIP).

a few shots below seem to be from west loop, right when your uncles were moving here for the year. walked around, showed them different spots worth checking out, and had lunch at cruz blanca brewery.

the bar on buena is one of the very few spots i’ve liked in uptown. i remember we had a fight this day, and it was just super awkward.

absolutely love finding new coffee spots and local beans. i think thrd is second to monday coffee, and they make one of the best cortados i’ve had. i guess that when i say i love logan square the most, it kind of includes wicker park and bucktown areas, too. i miss running on the 606 trail.

when i used to commute down to the old post office, there was this older gentleman who would always angrily hit these tennis balls and it always made me chuckle.

charlotte.
